My name is Ewan Valentine, I’m from the UK and I’ve been an engineer for around ten years. I’ve worked at companies such as BBC, LAD bible and Netlify, to name a few. My main focus is back-end (Golang), and distributed systems. I’m currently doing a Masters in Computer Science at the University of York.

I’m a Derby County supporter and I write and record music. You will likely bump into me at various metal gigs and festivals in the UK and Europe.

This blog is a place for me to develop my ideas, share things I have learnt, and generally vent.

You may be here expecting to see the lengthy series I wrote on Microservices, unfortunately those posts were lost and I currently don’t have the time to rewrite them. If I’m honest, I’m not sure I ever will as I suspect the microservices era is largely over. So if that’s why you’re here, I apologise and hope that you find at least some value in the new content.
